What does 11.12.13 means to you?

I'm not really into numbers.

Well.. that's not entirely true, for I do have my favorite numbers. I kinda like odd numbers.. so usually, I would prefer "1", "3", or "7". "12" is okay for me too, especially since I was born on the 12th.

But yeah.. I'm not so into the "08.08.08" or "11.11.11" or "11.12.13".

Ok. Not entirely true again. For when I was way younger, I did dream of getting married on "07.07.07". Plus, I was about 31 at that time, and felt that it was just the right age and time to get married.
Usually, girls dig this "date" thing..
Well anyway.. since the "07.07.07" wedding date thing didn't work for me, I stopped planning for a wedding with a nice date. Heh.Maybe I'm jaded, but to me, a date is a date. Although some dates are forever to be remembered - like the "9/11" attack in New York and errrr... really, can't remember any significant dates now.

Oh well. Anyway, 11.12.13 is supposedly the last "nice date". I mean, since there's only 12 months in a year, and we've used up all the numbers already, we will have to wait for another millennium again to get those nice numbers back.

But really... how significant is 11.12.13?

For me, at least, it's been quite a mixed bag of emotions.

For one, I woke up this morning with some nerve-wrecking news:

1. Kak Ju lost her sister to cancer this morning. She will spent 11.12.13 arranging for her sister's funeral in Melaka.

2. Misiah's niece is still in coma and is now fighting for her life since the accident on Dec 9. I don't have much details but it's kinda sad reading her posting on Facebook this morning.

3. Rosli flew back to KL two nights ago.. and via whatsapp today, he informed that his 3-month-old niece just got out from surgery where the doctor actually had to poke a hole in her skull. She fell at the babysitter's place a few days ago and has been in coma since.

4. Abang Sofi went for surgery at 7:30am (Singapore time) and it wasn't until almost 8 hours later did he get out of the operating theater; albeit minus all his toes on the right leg. But hey, at least he survived the surgery. We were so afraid that his heart wouldn't be able to take the grueling surgery, since his heart is only functioning at 15%. And doctors have warned us that he might suffer a stroke or a heart attack during the surgery. But Alhamdulillah.. he just texted me a few minutes ago to tell me that everything's ok.. *thank you Allah for answering our prayers*

5. And of course.. there are the weddings. I think my pilot-deejay friend, Johan (aka as JFK) is tying the knot today. And the glamorous actress Rozita Che Wan pun nikah today jugak.

So yeah.. What a day, huh?

For Kak Ju, Rosli and Misiah, it will be a nerve-wrecking day, and my heart goes out to them.May Allah give them the strength to go through these tough times.

To JFK and those who are tying the knot, may 11.12.13 be a beautiful day for you.

And for me? It's just another ordinary day.. although I must say a special prayer for my Abang later tonight.

But really, it's gonna be a normal day. I've got a presentation to do with the new Chairman.. and then it's arranging for lunch and dinner for the guests. Later tonight, me and the affable Burn (our security guy who will be in Khartoum for the next month) will go out to buy some groceries.. and we will cook together later tonight with Izman, who has agreed to make his famous egg omelet.

So yeah. 11.12.13 may be another ordinary day for me.. but yang penting, I still have many reasons to be thankful for. I have good health (alhamdulillah) and my abang kesayangan has survived the surgery. I may be far from home, family and close friends.. but I am surrounded by awesome people here too. People who make me laugh and watch over me.
A beautiful reminder
 Peace and love.. xoxo
