Hadiah dan bonus

Talk is rife about the coming bonus payout. And so, this morning, a friend suddenly spoke about setting aside some money to buy for the wife a gift.

"But she's also getting her bonus," I said.

"Doesn't matter.. that's her money. She can do what she likes with it. But I still want to share my bonus with her," he said.

Some women are so lucky kan.

And then, I thought about me. I've dated men who drive BMWs and earn 5-figure salaries.. but I never had any expensive gifts from them. Oh yeah.. I got myself a new iPad + Michael Kors handbag last December, but that was because of a bet I won.

Oh.. and there's the Pandora bracelet too.. but that's because he wanted to use my parking card at KLCC.

Ntah lah. I just don't know how to ask. When I'm with someone, it's because I truly adore the person. So I never expected anything fancy. Never had the nerve to ask.

The stuff I want, I earn it myself.. either via making bets or by saving up.

The men I've been with don't shower me with expensive gifts. Rather, they pick me up and send me to places, cook for me, or pamper me in other ways. But never with an expensive gift, even though they can so afford it.

And suddenly terfikir..... Am I not worthy of a nice, exquisite gift? One that is given out of pure love and adoration?



Oh well.. ni semua rezeki. But God has been fair to me. Regardless orang bagi hadiah ke tak, I can still afford to buy what I want, and go to places, with my hard earned money. :)

Anyway, I think people are getting tired and restless about MH370. When dulu people commended MAS and the Government for the way they are handling the media (and the crisis), everyone now is blaming them for not finding the missing aircraft.

Oh. And suddenly now, there are articles about how MAS and the Government were so bad at handling crisis. Suddenly the blame game is on. The authorities are hiding something lah. Why cannot be transparent lah.

And kalau a few days ago, semua puji our MAS crew.. now ada pulak cerita how flambouyant our crew have been.

Which is sad. The poor boy is missing and you are attacking his character now for allowing sexy babes in the cockpit?

Perlu ke cerita benda tu sekarang? Tak fikir how his family and friends must have been feeling at this moment? That's really stupid journalism lah, if you ask me. I know there's freedom of speech and expression .. but with the freedom comes responsibility. Mana responsible journalism nya?

And orang yang bantai kerajaan.. konon they are hiding things. Look.. I've been to Press conferences. I have friends working for the Ministers. I don't think our Government will hide any info, unless it is a threat to national security. And if so, then they have every right to keep quiet until the time is right to share the info.

Itu pun, if there's something fishy going on.

In my most humble opinion, the plane has probably crashed at sea. How and why it happened...? Well, if you watch Air Crash Investigations, you would know that planes can crash for many stupid reasons. Lupa nak cabut cellotape. Screw tak ketat lepas cuci aircraft. All these "petty" things that are not petty because there's no room for error when you are flying a plane.

But oh well. The plane is still missing. I hope everyone will give the Government, MAS and the family members of the victims some space.

Oh. Tapi I also hope the Government and MAS coordinate their media handling team. In a crisis, it's always not advisable to have so many spokesperson. Sebab story akan lari-lari. Even if story tak lari, some people are not articulate, so there will be misinterpretations.

Oh MH370, I hope there will be closure soon.

I don't care how flamboyant you are.. I am still proud of you. And my prayers are with you.
