Clean, clean.. dust, dust..

We (me and some boys) wanted to go out shopping semalam. But it was too hot and too dusty (massive sandstorm on Thursday night and semalam pun, the air still felt thick and dusty) and we were so full from lunch.

Yup. Lunch was good. We had ayam masak merah (courtesy of Rawi), some chicken and mushroom cooked in black pepper sauce (Dodi) and telur goreng masin and ikan goreng masin (yours truly). The egg was a bit salty because masa I tgh pour some salt into the telur, the phone rang and I terperanjat kejap. Heheh.

So anyway, we were too lazy to go out (I was too lazy).. but we ended up at Izman's (old) apartment instead. My my my... it was like a treasure hunt for me, Rawi and Dodi. Izman left so many good stuff for us!

I took the microwave (am giving mine away sebab my microwave tak powerful sangat.. reheat burger pun takes 3 mins), some tupperwares and dish sponges. Oh. And a chair and a table, and a bookshelf jugak.

We spent about an hour, scavenging.. haha.. no no, rummaging.. or just going through Izman's stuff. Tapi so proud am I of the table and the chair that I terus suruh the guys tolong I rearrange my apartment to fit the table and chair.

And so last night, while I cooked maggi for the guys, they (or rather Dodi lah..) tolong rearrange my apartment. And it's so nice!!! Boleh tak I rasa my small, humble apartment is so cantik? Siap dengan lampshade and candles semua.

Hahah..

And right now, I have two cleaners yang tengah bersihkan my house... while I am blogging away.

Will upload the pictures of the apartment later. :)

Anyway, I'm reading (with much amusement) pasal DAP's candidate di Teluk Intan. This Dyana Sofya, anak an UMNO person, and she graduated from UiTM.

People are bashing her up sebab:
1. She made a comment opposing hudud
2. She suggested that UiTM be opened to all

Some even said dia lupa daratan sebab she wouldn't be who she is today if not for her mum's role in UMNO Also the fact that she got into UiTM, which is a uni uniquely for Bumiputeras.

Well.. I can't say much about that.. sebab memang Melayu mudah lupa kan.. and it's so easy to bite the hand that once fed you..

But I do think she's got to be careful about hudud and UiTM.

In my humble (and probably useless) opinion, hudud can be implemented in Malaysia. After all, Islam is the official religion in the country kan? And just because we implement hudud, that doesn't mean you will see more stonings or orang kudung tangan in the country. Because really, it's not so easy to pass judgment using hudud law. There must be witnesses and mentally sound witnesses too. There are many "requirements" that need to be satisfied before you can jatuh hukum.

Cuma tu lah. The implementation of hudud law must be studied carefully. Are all Malaysians affected by the hudud law or just the Muslims? Do we have enough lawyers who are knowledgeable in the hudud law to start having hudud courts? If sentence is passed, how and where do we want to  implement it? Sebab bear in mind, the environment masa zaman Nabi dulu sangat berbeza dengan sekarang. It was more tribal back then and they live in villages. We now live in cities with limited space.

So yeah.. I think she (Dyana) shouldn't just oppose it. A smart lawyer like her should aim for  a muzzakarah.. or more discussions on this. After all, it is not up to her to decide if hudud law should be implemented or not. And just because we have another MP (if she gets elected) who is opposing the hudud law, doesn't mean Malaysia will not be implementing it. She's not a game-changer.. that's all I'm saying.. so she shouldn't be too quick to pass judgement.

And about UiTM to open for all.....?

Well, yang tu pun I disagree. UiTM is for Melayu Melayu yang tak berkemampuan untuk pergi overseas for an education. It is also for Melayu Melayu yang cannot compete for scholarship to further their studies abroad.

These are Malays who can't compete dengan bangsa lain. I mean, how do you expect anak nelayan di Terengganu and Kelantan to get straight As like anak-anak orang Cina and India di pekan pekan? Yang ada access to internet etc?

UiTM is for Bumiputera - Malays, Orang Asli and Orang Asal Sabah & Sarawak. That's what I think it should be.

There are more than 20 public and private universities in Malaysia. There is a university in every State. Masih tak cukup ke untuk bangsa-bangsa lain?

Perhaps, I truly appreciate the UiTM education that was given to me. When I had to use my own money to pay for fees. And I understand the need for the Bumiputeras to still get UiTM assistance.

Having said all that.. I still think Dyana will win in the election. After all, dia cantik.. (and even the UMNO brothers pun mesti cair ngan dia.. hehe..). Plus, it's "Anything But Umno" these days kan.. and there are many who want to see a new Government in Putrajaya.

So yeah. Dyana will win. I can bet on that!

Ok. Gotta go. The boys are waiting.

Till later.. xoxo
