I woke up feeling absolutely horrible yesterday. Head was spinning, I was feeling slightly feverish and I couldn't even swallow my saliva properly because throat was all red and swollen.
"Tonsilitis. Bleurghh." I mumbled to myself. Forced myself out of bed, hit the cold showers, took some lozenges and went to work.
Even my ever-friendly tea lady Rahwah said I looked awful.
Anyway, it was work as usual.. even went for a meeting at the British Council and then I went home for lunch. To sleep. Woke up an hour later, had some biscuits, pop some pills and went back to work. And thank God, I felt so much better after that..

| These work so well for me |
That's the sucky part about being alone in a foreign land. When you are sick, you have to deal with it on your own. Worse still, I wouldn't recommend going to the clinic / hospy here unless it's really necessary. For one, if you're sick (and don't require 'emergency' treatment), you can only see the doctor after 6pm. So you wake up feeling lousy and you only get to see the doctor some 12 hours later?
Doesn't make much sense to me.. but then again, a lot of things don't make much sense here anyway.
I once went to the hospital (again, for tonsilitis) and told the doctor that my throat hurt like hell. Instead of prescribing some medicine for me, she told me to "mix salt with water and gargle". Like ho-kayyyyy.... like I didn't know that before. Whatever happened to other medicine like 'Thymol'?

| This works wonders for me too |
Tapi takpe lah. Pengalaman sakit di negara orang kan. Cuma tu lah. If I'm in Malaysia, I'd have a lot of people fussing over me bila tak sihat.
Here in Khartoum, I'm left to my own device lah. So what I usually do is take all the necessary medicine and just sleep. Friends (macam Qis dulu) will give their medicine lah.. (yes, we all have stock ubat and we would share the ubat amongst ourselves) but still, takde lah orang yang akan get you McD porridge or make you soup lah. Heh.
Thank God I don't fall sick as much (as in KL). Maybe sebab the air is cleaner... or it's dry here.. so my lungs are better here.. Alhamdulillah.
Hooked on a new game
Anyway, thanks to Che Zuls and Nels, I'm now hooked on this new game called
4 pics 1 word. Kinda addictive jugak game ni..
And right now, as I'm blogging away, I have someone trying to solve my game..
Okaylah. Nak get some rest. Although I'm feeling much better today, I still feel that I need to rest and recuperate. Had good dinner tadi at Ozone with Geng Tulip.. So blessed to have good friends to cheer me up! *loveyouloadspeeps*
