Buka puasa di Khartoum - another story

So yeah, while I buka puasa at the surau on weekdays (thanks to my laziness to cook bila balik dari office), I have decided to cook on weekends.

Plus, watching MasterChef Australia always inspires me to (try to) cook. Heh.

Tengok MasterChef ni pun, I boleh nangis sometimes.. heh.

Anyway, over the weekend, I decided to cook lah. On Friday, I cooked chicken curry and semalam, I cooked creamy butter chicken. And aiyo, it's such a challenge to cook when you cannot even taste the food.. but Alhamdulillah, the food turned out alright. Yayy! (Cuma the butter chicken was a bit sticky sebab I think I terlebih letak corn-flour, while the potatoes for the curry chicken macam keras sikit.. but otherwise, I think the food's ok..)

But that is the best part about cooking during Ramadan with Geng Tulip. We each brought food to my house (cuz I was hosting during the two days) and it was so much fun. We had so much food.. and everything was oh so yummylicious! Alhamdulillah.

You should see how we helped one another. I wanted to cook the creamy butter chicken, tapi takde daun kari lah pulak. Nasib baik Ezlin ada. And then Ezlin pulak nak buat air sirap selasih, tapi takde limau. Izman pulak banyak limau... so between them, they made a jug of delicious air sirap selasih limau. So bestttt...

And Dods brought his chicken broth which was so soupy and complements my creamy / sticky butter chicken. And Ezlin and Isba juga bawa nasi goreng cina and agar-agar nata de coco. Oh and Izman made some egg omelet. Awesomest!

Geng Tulips' buka puasa feast semalam.. Not bad kan? For a group of amateur cooks.. heheh.

 And where was Rosli? He had an obligation to buka puasa with his Sudanese friends. :)

So itu lah. Our buka puasa adventure here in Sudan. Nothing fancy, but it's just as satisfying. And lepas berbuka, we still had the energy to pergi terawih.. :)

Oh.. And on Friday night, sempat lagi we all ber-movie together. And this time, the boys were kind enough to let me chose the movie, and I went for Pretty Woman. Entah kenapa, I was thinking of that movie. And I have to say, it's still one of my favorites.

So yeah.. happiness is makan maggi and karipap panas with a bottle of Ribena sambil layan 'Pretty Woman' with good friends. Ahhh.. the simple pleasures of life..
